SPECIALIZED RISK CONTROL

ICAP’s Risk Control team consist of individuals who are dedicated to helping Iowa municipalities and local communities prevent, reduce and decrease the possibility for loss.  The team achieves this by offering a number of resources, training and service offerings, all of which are offered and conducted for the sole benefit of ICAP members.

Our Risk Control Specialists work onsite, online and in the field to evaluate risks and respond to member requests; the team is broken into two separate departments: safety/general risk control and IT Risk Control.

IT Risk Control

IT Risk Control team members focus on cyber- and IT-related risks. With cybercrime on the continual rise, IT services are more important than ever before. ICAP’s IT Risk Control Team can help members evaluate IT assets and assist with cross checking hardware and systems (an important step to ensure such items align with the relevant property schedule).

In addition, our IT Risk Control Specialists can review computer information controls and processes, and provide recommendations to help your entity improve:

  • Communication controls;

  • Backup and disaster recovery;

  • System and security maintenance; and more!

Risk Control team members help evaluate and assess a given member’s unique exposures; they offer resources, customized risk management techniques, policy suggestions and more to help mitigate the potential for claims. Every ICAP member has a designated Risk Control Specialist who can help them evaluate property, including its use and potential for loss.

ICAP’s Risk Control Specialists offer a number of value-added resources and training opportunities (inclusive live sessions!) for members, including:

  • Safety & inspection webinars;

  • “What’s the Risk” video clips;

  • Policy reviews; and more!
