Hosted by the Verbal Judo Institute and tailored tailored to address the exclusive needs of HR professionals and frontline staff working on behalf of Iowa public entities. The presenter for these sessions, both with extensive backgrounds in HR and Parks & Rec, will review real-world scenarios and tactics that may minimize the potential for elevated altercations and harm.

For the convenience of attendees, this training will be split into two separate two-hour segments. The first, hosted from 10 AM - 12 PM, will focus on de-escalation tactics and case scenarios relevant to HR; from 12 PM - 2 PM, the training will focus on real-world scenarios/disputes involving front-line staff. This includes council, mayors and city administration; county auditors; assessors; parks and rec employees; transit workers; planning and zoning commission members; parking enforcement; and more.
