ICAP's 2018 Agent Seminar will be held Thursday, November 8, in Johnston.  The event is open exclusively to ICAP agents, who are required to register in advance to save their seat(s).

Additional information can be found on our Agent Seminar page.  Click to register and find out more!

ICAP works exclusively through local insurance agents, and regularly hosts educational events to help better educate agents on the exposures, risks and coverages exclusive to Iowa public entities.  These events serve to provide ICAP agents with the knowledge and materials necessary to successfully service public entities and the ICAP membership.

Since the mid-1990s, ICAP has hosted an annual Agent Seminar, an educational event for the sole benefit of its agents.  The Seminar features heavy-hitting presentations, as well as continuing education (CE) credits for eligible agents.

In 2014, the Pool also began hosting an annual member education event, the Educational Summit, to which ICAP agents are also invited to attend.  The 2018 Educational Summit will be held Thursday, June 14, in Johnston.  ICAP agents can learn more about that event here.

ICAP also hosts ICAP 101 and an annual Agent Academy.  Together and separately, these programs provide ICAP agents the opportunity to spend time with the ICAP team and learn more about the Pool.

ICAP 101 is the prerequisite to ICAP’s Agent Academy and provides attending agents with a wealth of information, including a history of the Pool, as well as an overview of how ICAP works, the programs we offer and the coverages the Pool affords.

Once ICAP 101 has been completed, an agent is eligible to attend the ICAP Agent Academy.

The Academy is completed over two one-day intensives, which are broken down into four class sessions:

  • Marketing;
  • Underwriting;
  • Loss Control; and
  • Claims.

Upon completion of all four sessions and full attendance at the annual Agent Seminar, qualified agents will earn the “ICAP Certified” designation, a recognition that has been bestowed upon only a handful of agents thus far.

We are excited to announce the 2018 Agent Academy class is full!  Interested in signing up for the waitlist, or putting your name on the list for the 2019 Agent Academy?  Email Kasi Koehler via kasi@icapiowa.com.
